Finally receiving the permission to photograph the island after waiting a number of years, I finally visited Skellig Michael in September 2017 for two days. I was eager to visit this Island since I have a strange fascination for decrepit manmade structures. As soon as my eyes landed on the helicopter pad hanging from the dangerous yet magnificent Skellig Cliffs, I was immediately drawn to it like a bee to a flower. An abode of ancient artificial structures, the Skellig Coast offers a dramatic setting. Also, the fact that several scenes from Star Wars The Last Jedi was shot here, intimidated a fan like me greatly.
