“That which we make.”

I took this sunset photo of Enniscorthy Bridge in Enniscorthy, County Wexford during a commission to photograph the River Slaney for the Slaney bar in Dublin Airport Terminal 2. I love the stillness of the scene. It was an enjoyable commission. The subject matter was somewhat different to what I would normally shoot, in that the elements of the scene were subtler than the rather dramatic compositions I normally shoot. I found my architectural photography background very much influenced the type of images which I shot. As a result I was able to create rather dynamic images from the scenery.

“A well shot chute, a precipitous outpouring, a coastal cascade. And peace. That quiet mantle coats the scene.”

The lovely Dunseverick waterfall is situated in one of the most picturesque areas of North Antrim in Northern Ireland. It is a short drive from the Giant’s Causeway and is the result of a small river flowing into the sea. I photographed the waterfall jay before sunset after going for a nice walk along the cliffs. It was a beautiful evening and was a great way to finish the day.

“A marriage of form to place. Right. Joyous. Good. A true path.”

A beautiful fine art photograph of Ireland on the picturesque Dunquin Pier County Kerry. Dunquin Pier is a most unusual structure. The pier is located on the west coast of the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry. The spectacular views of the Blasket islands, the rugged cliffs which make up the coastline, the picturesque, narrow, winding pathway leading to the pier and the splendid sunsets offer much to savour. I think this photograph of Ireland illustrates the true essence of our land.

“First, ruptered land, sharp spinal rock. But it is a beckoning safety, that softly draws the eye.”

Dunmore Head is located between Coumeenoole Beach and Slea Head on the Dingle Peninsula in Kerry. It is one of the most beautiful places in Ireland. From here, there are stunning views of the Blasket islands. Years ago this was my very first medium format film image printed in a darkroom. I knew immediately I made the right decision to move up in format. I always loved taking photos of Kerry and this spot is one of my favourite places. Even just to sit.

“A sober gathering. Well shaded.”

Here you see my very first 360° panoramic forest photo. It is a landscape photo of Gougane Barra Forest in County Cork, in the southwest of Ireland. In the forest you will find huge evergreen trees, whose roots are partially exposed and covered in moss. They appear so statuesque and proud. It is part of a series of fine art landscape photos of Ireland centred around it’s beautiful forest. This particular image is displayed in the Marker Hotel in Dublin as a 6.6m wide acrylic. It has to be seen to be believed.

A scenic lake photo taken in the tranquil setting of Doo Lough, also know as the Black Lake, in County Mayo. The lake situated near Delphi and Killary Harbour, surrounded by the Mweelrea Mountains and the Sheeffry hills, it is a very beautiful, peaceful, unspoiled, almost desolated place. I love the dramatic beauty of the lake and the mountains rising on the lake sides. The boats on the lake add a perfect composition to the scene.

“Cliffs: stone past and present, vast primeval blocks, watchers and wardens. Utterly indifferent sons.”
– SJ Mannion
The dramatic Drumgour Cliffs near Portmagee in County Kerry are one of the most dramatic stretches of coast in Ireland. The cliffs, also known as the Kerry Cliffs form a series of high peninsulas jutting out into the Atlantic ocean.

The woodland in Donadea Forest Park is embellished by the variety of species, walk paths, birds and greetings of Kildare sunny afternoons.

“Light, shade, a glamour, a gleam. A gloaming suite of trunk and tree. Reaching toward, up, always.”

An example of moonlit nightscape astrophotography on Coumeenole Beach County Kerry. Coumeenole is located on the west of the stunning Dingle Peninsula in one of the most spectacular parts of the Ireland. You can clearly see bioluminescence in the water. It was my first time ever to see it.
