The old networks of pipework form part of the exhibition intsallation in the Guinness Storehouse. The Storehouse is a must see when visiting Dublin. The evolving exhibits in the Storehouse utilise the old materials and structures creatively and sympathetically in honour of the history of this wonderful building.

The Guinness Storehouse. Fine art photography in Ireland

“Complex utility serves simplicity”

– SJ Mannion

One of my personal favourite photos. It is a photo of the old pipework and steel in the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. I was commissioned by Diageo to photograph the building for a number of uses. I knew there was fantastic opportunity for fine art photography in Ireland while satisfying the brief. One of the main attractions to the Storehouse..in addition to the famous Black Stuff, is the Building itself. This was the 1st photo I took. It screamed at me to be taken.

The photo was part of my winning commercial portfolio in the 2015 IPPA awards and was also a finalist in the 2015 world Cup. It now forms part of an exclusive body of work from the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin available as limited edition prints.

The iconic Guinness Storehouse, photographed on Market Street, James’s Gate. The Storehouse and the various other Guinness structures and buildings dominate the skyline around Kilmainham. They are beautiful examples of the Chicago school of Architecture. The Guinness Storehouse building was constructed in 1902.

The warm morning sun catches an old brick building. The building on Crane Street is part of the famous Guinness site in Dublin City Centre. The Guinness gate on Crane Street was selfie central on that morning. The whole area has such a timeless feel, especially in the early mornings.

Guinness Storehouse Bellevue Photos Old Dublin

“As crinoline, bustle and hoopskirt – so serve bridge, brick and street here”

– SJ Mannion

The Guinness Storehouse, photographed on Bellevue shortly after sunrise on a wonderful morning in Dublin City. The brilliant glow of the early sun catches the brickwork. It’s quite difficult to find a good time to take photos of Bellevue. It gets pretty chaotic doing the day when the Guinness Storehouse is in full swing. With buses, taxis, horse drawn carriages and a lot of visitors filling up the street. It is Ireland’s most visited tourist destination after all. But at this time of day you could be imagine yourself in another century. I love walking around the Storehouse during these times.
