Lough Key Forest Park forest photo sunset
“Lux, Lucus, Lucum de lumine.”
– SJ Mannion
I visited Lough Key forest park in County Roscommon a couple of times recently. It was for the 1st time in well over 30 years. The last time I can remember been there was on the day of my holy Communion! It’s located roughly halfway between Boyle and Carrick on Shannon. I came across this amazing location where the place just came alive at a certain time of day. I found it the day before. Everything just made sense. The light was almost biblical. The mosses came alive from the back lit sunlight and I managed to get this incredible star burst. I took this first photo on my first visit. It was my last photo that day because my memory card was full and I had stupidly left my other cards in the car.
